04/29/2007: Need for Networking of Immigrants to Support Immigration Reform Legislation
When it comes to the community organizing and support activities for the comprehensive immigration reform legislation, there are hundreds of organizations that organize, network, and mobilize the immigrants in support of the issues involving the difficult issues of legalization of illegal aliens. However, the same is not true with the employment-based immigration reform issues. The lobbying and organizing and support of these issues rely heavily on the employers, businesses, and academic institutions such as competeamerica. Without doubt, the employers should be the most effective and powerful groups to pressure the Congress, President, and other players in the political process.
However, it is time that the immigrants themselves also participate in a similar effort to share information, issues, and supporting activities. Obviously, the first move is to organize and build a network throuhout the nation and the world, and along with the networking, other support activities must be conducted and expanded. There are not too many immigrant groups that are focused on the employment-based immigration reform issues. Currently, a website of www.immigrationvoice.org is launching this campaign and attempting to organize and network in the employment-based immigrant communities. This reporter urges the foreign professional workers to visit and join this group to help an activities of side-kick from the standpoint of stakeholder foreign workers in support of the employers and their support groups. dear friends,
I am on H1B. my wife is on H4. I want to apply ITIN no for my wife.
Q1. should i file under "Spouse of U.S. citizen/resident alien" or "Dependent/spouse of a nonresident alien holding a U.S. visa".
Q2. what are the documents I need to submit with the W-7 form.
Q3. is ITIN application only possible during tax return filing or I can apply and get the ITIN number early and then use it during my tax filing.
Q4. How much is the fee for the ITIN no.

I have a cousin who converted EB3 to EB2 after applying for 485. He got his green card too. I think you should consult some good lawyer. But this can be done.

My husband and I are working on H1B visa.My husband has filed for Green card..
Now my question is at what stage in my husdband's Green card process, will I be eligible for the visa extension
if 6 years on H1B are over??
If I also file for the green card, I get labor cleared and just in case I lose the job.Then what options I have
for visa extension?If I join another company do I have to have again labor cleared to get additional visa extension
at the completion of 6 year?what happens to priority date,can I use earlier GC filing priority date?

It is direct deposit / stub, but company name does not show anywhere and I spoke with employees that have been there over a year and they say that is also how the W2 is printed. Company name does not show.

There is a business visa (B1) he can apply. If he applies for the B2 (tourism visa) and tries to work, it will be illegal. He beeds to say "business" in the purpose of the visit column.

Restarting wouldn't be a bad idea in my case as i'm EB3 ROW and i do have an approved I140 on EB3.
But in my case i have over 4 years of work experience, but do not have a masters degree, so any idea if that is possible ?
My gut feeling is that regardless if i'm not able to qualify for EB2, my PD JUN 2006 will get current in a couple of months - just hopefull :rolleyes:

USCIS will not outright deny applications with mistakes as far as I can tell (I am no expert). There may be RFEs or NOID to which you can take proper action.

I have a EB2 labor that is approved from BEC. But i have already applied 140 and 485 using EB3 labor and both are pending. Now I am planning to interfile 485 once my old 140 approves.
My question is does my labor expire, If I dont use it to file 140.

yes. 180 days past its approval date if it was approved since the law banning EB substition came out (in May or June this year). If it was approved before that law came into effect, then it will expire 180 days after the law became effective (Jan 2008).
Go ahead and file the second I-140, you can have two pending.

I guess we get FP for 485. Not for EAD or even AP.
You will get second (or even third or fourth...) Finger print notice(s)
until you get GC every 15 or 18 months.
They need to renew their FP database.

I do not know about the number of recipts#, but if you gave the checks for the applications then most of the banks give images of cashed-check. That image will have the recipt number printed on the back side of check.
BTW, When did your 485 application/package reach USCIS? June or July 2007

I called after about 3 weeks just to check status.
My PD is April-2002 and I really need to go back home in December but I don't want to use AP for that, so I am hoping I will hear something by the end of this year.
