It could be simple as having two tabs..one for the music store and the other for the movie store.
By that logic you could tab all of iLife in one app. Or tab the entire Adobe suit in a single window.
Movies and music are different media with different means of consumption, different lengths, different technology, different file sizes, different meta-information etc. etc.
Whatever their solution it has to be "as good as" two apps, almost non of the same rules apply to movies as do to music.

I knew someone would say that. ... I'm not usually there to talk to them about that kind of security ... The client gets you in for particular job that they're paying you for... So, by all means ask them about it,

I'd be doing them a great disservice to "patch a broken arm" and ignore the "cancer" that represents a greater threat... and I tell them so. I've never had a client fail to appreciate this approach.

Just wanted to put forward another point of view where it might be useful beyond the phrase, "the Mac doesn't have viruses, why would you need it?"
The flip-side of that phrase is, "Windows DOES have viruses; why wouldn't every Windows box have antivirus protection running?"

Apple would only be hurting themselves if they waited until the Fall.
People are ready for a new iPhone. If it doesn't come out by June, some will lose patience and buy an iPhone 4, or worse, will be tempted by the false promises coming from every phone offering 4G service.

Apple already has the iphone 5 in their warehouses. After the botched ipad2 fiasco, they finally learned their lesson.
Once the hype machine starts they will again make the iphone 5 scarce, so people stand in line, just to get press coverage.

Usually, "Preferred" means one will be more readily available (download) than the other (Physical).
In 3 years there will be no "PREFERRED" anything with Macs. Everything that is installed on Mac will come from the App Store. It WILL BE the EXCLUSIVE method of loading ANYTHING on Macs. OS X will become exactly like iOS and ALL of you will just happily accept it. I expect to see statements on Macrumors like "Oh how wonderful it is that Steve is looking after us and protecting us from the evil world of Malware that those crappy PC's get. Thanks Steve for looking out for us and our elegant, delicious, sexy, and magical devices"......

Anything can be confusing and "ambiguous" if you throw enough uninitiated at a situation. It's just that people that lack proper knowledge or training would rather say something is "ambiguous" than admit that the problem lies with them.

Sure, it's capactive now, and higher rez, but it's still a bunch of scrollable icons on a phone to launch apps.
Wonder if the tablets they're going for are pre-honeycomb or post? It'd be hard to compare Honeycomb UI to anything Apple's currently doing, and any tablet prior to that, there's surely plenty of prior art android tablets? There were a whole bunch (admittedly lousy chinese cheap rubbish) tablets being demo'd at every tech conference for a year before Apple even admitted they had a tablet to sell.
The tablets have to be included I guess, but it's going to be hard work. The phones are the obvious vector they're going for, they do have UI patents, but when it comes down to it, and other phone manufacturers (or rather their lawyers) see how much money is involved, I can see it getting messy as everyone who had a phone with buttons on it (and there are many) will want to take a shot.

I for one am not really that bothered about Lion or any OS updates - I love to have the latest thing and all improvements are always good. However, in my opinion they need to fix the OS I have before they release another one! For example with the last "update" [10.6.7] my Open type fonts are now playing up and the wonderful new Mac App Store takes about a minute to launch!
I get very worried when I hear El-Jobso talking about post a PC world as if he has decided already that the PC is dead. I for one could not make a living using an iPad and an iPhone.
Macs have always historically been used by content creators and designers [like me]. If, sometime in the future, Apple plan to lock down the system like they do with the iOS then I will simply stop upgrading my system. I could carry on using the system I have now until I retire, so it makes no odds to me if they want to stop making "proper" macs. I would imagine the rest of the design community would feel the same.

fortunately, i'm on cingular - great coverage, great phones, and a great probability of finding the supposed iPhone in the lineup.

Yeah and that's what the loyalists said in the 80's, and there's less than 10% of us in the market now. You talk about security, but it's not a security threat to have a jailbroken user... oh wait, unless by security you're talking about someone picking up my phone and changing my home screen to 16 icon view instead of 12 that apple limits me too... oh the humanity. Mine connection would take around 14 hours, but we have adsl 2+ now which is up to 24mb/sec. Can't wait to upgrade :cool:

honestly I think android is just as intuitive and easy to use as ios. I can't believe people actually say they don't understand how to use android. for god sakes my 8 year old nephew figured out his dad's android phone after a 30 minutes of playing with it.
I prefer ios for it's elegance but android isn't tough to use at all...

I dont understand the point of this. Is storage really an issue on peoples computers? I understand the mobile app, but why not just store the files locally?
computers are last century, this is aimed at Android users like me with a phone with only 8GB of storage. no need to buy another SD card since i can dump part of my itunes library to amazon now

My only dig: LTE = More $$$$
I'd rather use a solid HSPA+ device in June, than wait til September (or later) to use a device where my data plan could jump by $10.
I will only be excited for LTE if the data plans don't rise. I think it's ridiculous that every time a new cell technology comes out, cell companies raise their prices.

Lol, I didn't think that my statements would be very controversial, but apparently there are people here that do not quite have an eye for good design. Sorry.
Steve has spoken about Apple taking culture into their designs and products for many years. One example I listed is the beautiful new start menu in iMovie for iPad that is the marque of an old theater that even has the lights power up with authentic sound and visuals as the app opens to showcase your projects in a gallery of movie posters on the wall. Very creative and cultural!
